If you have a fire hydrant near to your home, remember to clear the snow and ice away from it during the winter months. Help make the hydrant accessible to fire fighters in the event of a fire. It could be your own home that you save!
Keep your driveways clear of overgrown trees and vegetation that could prevent fire truck access to your home. Trimming back overhanging trees a minimum of 12' high and 12' wide will allow access for large emergency vehicles. And remember to post your house number at the beginning of your driveway.
